"details": "In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:\n\nnetfilter: nf_tables: Fix potential data-race in __nft_flowtable_type_get()\n\nnft_unregister_flowtable_type() within nf_flow_inet_module_exit() can\nconcurrent with __nft_flowtable_type_get() within nf_tables_newflowtable().\nAnd thhere is not any protection when iterate over nf_tables_flowtables\nlist in __nft_flowtable_type_get(). Therefore, there is pertential\ndata-race of nf_tables_flowtables list entry.\n\nUse list_for_each_entry_rcu() to iterate over nf_tables_flowtables list\nin __nft_flowtable_type_get(), and use rcu_read_lock() in the caller\nnft_flowtable_type_get() to protect the entire type query process.",

"scenario": "AV:L - The vulnerable code is reached through the nfnetlink/nftables netlink socket interface (NFT_MSG_NEWFLOWTABLE batch message), which requires local system access. Per kernel scoring guidance, netfilter/nftables netlink paths are Local.\nAC:H - The attacker fully controls the reader side by spamming NFT_MSG_NEWFLOWTABLE, but the writer side is `nft_unregister_flowtable_type()`, reachable only from `nf_flow_inet_module_exit()` \u2014 i.e. an `rmmod` requiring real CAP_SYS_MODULE in the init namespace, which an unprivileged attacker cannot influence. Winning the window between latching `type` and `try_module_get(type->owner)` therefore depends on a privileged event outside attacker control.\nPR:L - `nfnetlink_rcv()` checks `netlink_net_capable(skb, CAP_NET_ADMIN)`, which evaluates against `sock_net(sk)->user_ns`, so an unprivileged user obtains the needed capability with `unshare -Urn`. No real root is required on the attacker's side of the race.\nUI:N - Exploitation requires only that the attacker issue netlink requests in a loop; no victim opens a file, mounts a filesystem, or otherwise participates. The concurrent administrative module unload is accounted for in Attack Complexity, not User Interaction.\nS:U - The race, the dangling pointer, and its consequences are all confined to the kernel's own security authority. No VM, IOMMU, or sandbox boundary is crossed.\nC:H - The unprotected traversal yields a dangling `struct nf_flowtable_type *` into freed module memory, which is then dereferenced (`type->family`, `type->owner`) and chased into `struct module` inside `try_module_get()`. Per kernel guidance a use-after-free is scored High, since reclaimed memory contents become readable through the stale pointer.\nI:H - `try_module_get()` performs `atomic_inc_not_zero(&module->refcnt)` through a pointer read from freed memory, and on success `nf_tables_newflowtable()` stores the stale `type` and invokes `type->init()` while `nft_flowtable_parse_hook()` installs `type->hook` as a live packet-processing callback \u2014 a control-flow hijack primitive if the module region is reclaimed. Use-after-free with function-pointer dereference is High integrity impact.\nA:H - Module memory is released via `execmem_free()`, so dereferencing the stale `type` typically faults on unmapped kernel address space, producing an oops/panic. Any use-after-free of this kind is scored High availability impact."
